Grand Canyon West Rim to River Wilderness Day Trip

We believe this is a great Grand Canyon Explorer day trip. Millions of people visit the Grand Canyon each year, but not here. By special permit, we take you to the wilderness on the Hualapia Indian Reservation, away from the tour coaches and crowds. This is your personal Grand Canyon West Rim experience. We safely drive you down, down, down, right to the water of the Colorado River on the only road into the Grand Canyon.

Explore four spectacular sights:

1. We pick you up at your hotel in a 7-passenger SUV and head straight for the canyon. You will travel across the famous Hoover Dam and stop for photos of the dam and Lake Mead.

2. Travel to Peach Springs, Arizona, (2.5 hours from Las Vegas) and then down into the canyon to the Colorado River via dirt road. where we will spend approximately one half hour inside one of the most spectacular scenes in the world. You don't need to take a helicopter or book a mule train a year or two in advance to get down into the canyon, not with us!

3. Next travel across the remote back country of the Hualapai Reservation on your way to the Grand Canyon West Rim. This isn’t suburbia! At the West Rim you will experience fabulous views of the Grand Canyon from a rim location that has remained virtually untouched by the 20th century. We can view approximately 4 1/2 miles of the Colorado River from this extremely sheer canyon wall (no guard rails here).

4. Enjoy the wonderful ancient Joshua Tree Forest in Arizona along a very remote route from the Grand Canyon back to Las Vegas. Joshua trees have no growth rings for counting their age. However, the size of these trees implies that this is an old-growth forest.

This is a small-group tour. You will travel in new 4x4, luxury SUV’s with specialty guides. This trip through NW Arizona is for the adventurous explorer seeking new territory to see. It does contain longer sections of highway and dirt roads, rough in places, but not dangerous.
