Grand Canyon West Rim by Van via Hoover Dam
The Grand Canyon West Rim on the Hualapai Indian Reservation is
the closest part of these Grand Canyon Tours from Las Vegas. Look at the photos
and panoramas on this page. It is the Grand Canyon in all its glory!

How does this differ from the South Rim in the National Park? Here
you are closer to the Colorado River. You stand on the rim at 5,000
feet in elevation and peer directly down on the river almost 4,000
feet below you. Across the canyon you look up at distant mesa layers
a thousand feet higher. It is a special place!
There are few people at this remote part of the canyon. This is
because it is accessible only by a 14 mile dirt road, or by air,
and there are no hotels or campgrounds. That is why we like to go
there.
Grand Canyon Tours Schedule
1. We pick you up at your hotel in a van and head straight
for the canyon. Departure time is 7 am. You will travel across the
famous Hoover Dam and stop for photos of the dam and Lake Mead.
2. Explore the West Rim and enjoy a picnic lunch with panoramic
canyon views.
3. On the way back we take a short stop at a western cowboy ranch.
4. Our route from these Grand Canyon Tours back to Las Vegas is through
a wonderful ancient Joshua tree forest in Arizona. Joshua trees
have no growth rings for counting their age. However, the size of
these trees implies that this is an old-growth forest.
This is the same tour, ground portion, as the Grand Canyon Triple
Experience tours from Las Vegas. The Triple Experience tour adds an exciting helicopter
flight into the canyon and a Colorado River boat ride while at the
West Rim. Those not taking the Triple Experience portion of this
tour have a longer time at the rim. Your party can enjoy either
tour and travel together.
Depart at 7 am, return approximately 5-5:30 pm.
Price:
$179 (including lunch and all fees)
