Grand Canyon River Rafting

Grand Canyon River Rafting "Our rafting trip in the Grand Canyon was awesome!" - R. Berger - Truckee, CA

The mighty Grand Canyon attracts people from all over the world to experience the thrills and excitement of rafting the Colorado River. These incredible Grand Canyon rafting trips are available as day trips from March 15 - October 31 with the largest whitewater being in May and June. Multi-day trips also take place throughout the year and are only available with advance reservations.

Grand Canyon River Rafting
The exciting day trips are the most popular types of Grand Canyon rafting trips. There are two choices for those wishing to do these types of trips. One trip drives to the canyon and then you go rafting ending with a drive back to Las Vegas. The other option offers a helicopter flight to the canyon (saving much time) and then you go rafting, the trip ends with a drive back to Las Vegas. Both options allow plenty of time on the river.

ONE-DAY GRAND CANYON RAFTING TRIPS

Enjoy real Grand Canyon white-water rafting for a day and be back in Las Vegas for dinner. Your adventure begins with transportation options of either of a scenic plane flight or by ground transportation from Las Vegas to Peach Springs, Arizona, deep in the heart of the Hualapai Indian homeland.

The scenic plane flight gives you spectacular aerial views of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Valley of Fire, and of course, the Grand Canyon. The ground transportation option is in a luxury-model SUV that picks you up right at your Las Vegas hotel and drives you across the top of Hoover Dam.

On the next segment of your journey, the Indians take you through Grand Canyon wilderness by shuttle bus to Diamond Creek where your 8-passenger raft and Hualapia Indian guide stand ready to take you through the seventh wonder of the world.

Once on the Colorado, hold on as you raft for 55 miles over a series of white water rapids ranging from class 3 to 6, on a scale of 1 to 10. Be ready. You will get wet! Guaranteed!

A brief stop at Travertine Canyon gives you an opportunity to hike into this secret side canyon and enjoy a piece of nature only accessible by river. After a delicious lunch, your raft winds its way down the canyon over smooth water to Grand Canyon West.

You then board a helicopter for a breath-taking climb 4000 feet up to the Rim of the Grand Canyon above. Finish with a scenic drive, or return plane flight (depending on your option) to Las Vegas. Arrive in Las Vegas with plenty of time for dinner and the evening of Las Vegas fun.

Grand Canyon River Rafting include:
Hotel pickup; Transportation to Peach Springs, Arizona; Bus ride to Diamond Creek; Rafting down the Colorado; Rafting safety gear; Lunch and snacks; Helicopter transfer to the Rim; Return transportation to your Las Vegas hotel upon return.

Great for families and company groups! Children must be at least 8 years of age to participate.

What to bring:
Sunscreen, Hat, Towel, Sunglasses, Lip Balm, Light shirt with long sleeves (optional), small bag (max 15 lbs). Dry bags for your personal items are provided.

What to wear:
Shorts, T-Shirt, Tennis shoes/water sandals, Swim Suit (optional), Change of clothes (optional) Depending on river conditions, clothing will get wet.

Tour Duration: 10-12 hours. Operates from March 15 through October.

Caution: You will get wet! During early and late season, especially on days when it is not hot in the canyon or on very windy days, being wet will cause you to be chilled. We highly recommend you bring a hooded rain parka.

On rare, extremely windy days, for safety concerns, the helicopter may not be flying and will not be available to fly you out of the canyon up to the West Rim. On such windy days the rafters will continue on with the rafting guides out into Lake Mead to their daily exit location. There rafters will be picked up by van or coach for the return to Las Vegas.
